Curriculum

  Where do our curricular goals come from?

This year students will be provided numerous  inquiry-based experiences in the classroom to support achievement of the skills outlined in our 3rd grade POWERstandards. POWERstandards guide teacher instruction throughout the year. Students will be expected to achieve proficiency in each skill. POWERstandards were developed by our third grade team by combing our state standards (GLCE'S) with the national Common Core curricular expectations. The grading scale below will be used to gauge student achievement throughout the year. Be aware that students may not achieve proficiency until the completion of our third grade year. Grading Scale

4 – Unique, outstanding, advanced, remarkable, masterful

3 – Solid, very good, clearly proficient

2 – Somewhat proficient, adequate, partially proficient

1 – Weak, poor, limited understanding/proficiency

0 – Basic, simple understanding/knowledge
